Three Essentials for Living a Spiritual Life in Modern Times

Workshops based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda
Sunday 20 May 2018 10.00am – 4.00pm
God Guru Phone in Nature

Do you want to take your meditation practice to the next level – beyond technique? Perhaps you’ve been meditating for some time and feel that there must be more to meditation than watching the breath and the bodily sensations.

Are you ready to embrace the spiritual dimension of meditation? Or perhaps you’ve already embraced the spiritual and want to deepen that connection.

If that’s the case, then this workshop might just be the right one for you.

Swami Kriyananda said that Paramhansa Yogananda gave his close disciples very few spiritual teachings.

He told them that attunement with God through the Guru was all they needed.

And in today’s age, the smart phone is an essential tool. Not only does it keep you connected to others on the same path, but it opens the door to a vast amount of resources on the internet to keep you moving forward.

You’re probably asking what is this thing called attunement or how do I cultivate it?

The workshop is highly practical. Not only will you receive answers to these questions but you will engage in practices that will help cultivate your attunement.

Paramhansa Yogananda in his poem When I am Only a Dream says:
I come to tell you all of Him,
And the way to encase Him in your bosom,
And of the discipline which brings His grace.

You’ll begin the day with Energisation Exercises and practice feeling God as energy. Then comes devotional chanting. Chanting engages the heart and quickly moves you into the feeling space. Yogananda said that chanting is half the battle. Then a guided meditation to help attune to God in a way that you hold dear, either as form or formless.

While the practices are taken from the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, anyone interested in the spiritual dimension of meditation will benefit from attending this workshop.

There will be opportunities for both group as well as individual practices. (Some parts of the workshop may be out in nature if weather permits)

We acknowledge that everyone has their own unique relationship with God. We encourage you to nurture your unique form.
