Based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi

Join us each Wednesday at 6.30pm with a flexible finish time between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM.

Venue: 466 Airport Road

This season, our gatherings are inspired by the words of Paramhansa Yogananda in the poem, Samadhi:

“By deeper, longer, thirsty, guru-given meditation comes this celestial samadhi.”

Our intention is to dive deep into our meditations, lengthen the sitting time, and infuse it with a longing for the Divine experience.

In the Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramhansa Yogananda writes:

A master bestows the divine experience of cosmic consciousness when his disciple, by meditation, has strengthened his mind to a degree where the vast vistas would not overwhelm him. The experience can never be given through one’s mere intellectual willingness or open-mindedness. Only adequate enlargement by yoga practice and devotional bhakti can prepare the mind to absorb the liberating shock of omnipresence. It comes with a natural inevitability to the sincere devotee. His intense craving begins to pull at God with an irresistible force. The Lord, as the Cosmic Vision, is drawn by the seeker’s magnetic ardor into his range of consciousness.

What to expect?

  • Our meditations begin with a group prayer to invoke the presence of the Great Masters of the Kriya Yoga lineage and includes Saints and Sages of all religions.
  • The prayers are followed by devotional chanting to awaken the energy of the heart
  • The group leader may guide some parts of the meditation practice
  • There is a period of silent meditation
  • Meditations end with healing prayers for others.
  • The group leader may share inspiration or teachings from the Great Masters, offering insights and guidance for spiritual growth and understanding.

What does Paramhansa Yogananda say about group meditations?

Group meditation is a castle which protects the new Spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-Realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of Spiritual magnetism.
